Pictured is the 5th Year Biology class of 2016/2017, who attended an educational Ecology Trip to Galway Atlantaquaria and Terryland Grassland Ecosystem.
The trip is very beneficial in students completing their Ecology coursework as part of the curriculum.

Biology is taught as a separate Science subject for Leaving Cert.
It is taught in mixed ability groups.
The syllabus is derived to include a variety of approaches including an Ecology field trip. Biology is a subject most useful for courses and careers in Medicine, Dentistry,Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Optics, Nursing and many more research courses. Biology in St Brigid's Vocational School is a very popular subject with male and female students.
There are two levels - Higher and Ordinary.
All students study Higher level in fourth year with most students continuing this level to Leaving Cert, which is very much encouraged by all Biology teachers.
The exam comprises of 3 written sections.

There is a good choice on the paper in terms of questions, which results in a very high success rate in the Leaving cert Biology exam.
